French (Modern Foreign Language MFL)

Programmes & Levels

Junior Certificate:

1st, 2nd and 3rd Years study French as an examination subject at either Ordinary or Higher level. All students complete an Oral, Aural & Written examination as part of their Junior Certificate.

Transition Year:

Classes are divided in two groups, advanced and mixed.
Advanced: There is an emphasis on oral, grammar and cultural studies, all of which include project work.
Mixed: This is an introduction to French language and culture.

Leaving Certificate:

French is offered as an option at both Higher and Ordinary level. Classes are of mixed ability.

French Theatre:

A French theatre company visits the school on an annual basis to perform for Junior & Senior classes. An enjoyable experience for all. (Photos included)
