Computer Facilities

The computer facilities in the school are frequently upgraded to allow staff and students to keep ahead in this fast developing area.  During their six years of study at Castleblayney College, students will learn to be computer literate in the following disciplines: Word Processing, Spread Sheets, Database, Desktop Publishing, Multi-Media Presentation, E-Mail, Internet and Web Design.  All staff and students have access to cloud based storage, hosted by Microsoft Office 365 and linked to their school e-mail address.  This allows students to log on at home and access the work that they have saved at school.

The Parents Association has purchased a supply of Kindles which will be used as a mobile library to promote reading and improve literacy skills as part of the School Literacy Plan.

A mobile Laptop facility comprising of 24 laptops allows for computers to be used in any of the general classroomsas an educational tool 

Each specialist classroom and all general classrooms have computer facilities including data projectors or interactive white boards. The newly equipped Technical Graphics CAD Room is fully computerized with Interactive whiteboard technology as is the Art Room.

A new cloud based system to record and process student attendance, behaviour records and term reports provides a more effecient way of managing individual student information.
